What to Expect on your Visit with the Arthritis Center

(upbeat music) The Johns Hopkins Arthritis Center is based at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Campus. We have two medical office coordinators who would be your first point of contact with our center, if you’re coming to see us as a patient. Our research operations are also integrated within the clinic setting itself so that when a patient comes for a visit, we also incorporate research oftentimes within that visit, where coordinators would come and potentially approach you about participating in a study, answering questionnaires and your interest in participating in other activities. Because we’re a research institution, we have a lot of trainees that are involved in seeing patients with us. These include, not only rheumatology fellows, but also visiting medical residents, post-doctoral fellows who are visiting us from abroad, and medical students, all of whom may participate in your care of being seen. Every patient though is seen by an attending rheumatologist and the cases are reviewed in detail at the time of the visit and your consultation includes the combined assessment from the rheumatologist.
