Maplewood Back Pain Relief Part 1

Maplewood Back Pain Relief Part 1

Hi there! I’m Dr. Tim Rowh with Vertical Chiropractic
Health Center and today’s video number one of a four part series to help you with your
back pain. The thing about back pain is 8 out of 10 people
deal with it at some point in their life. So there’s a good chance you’ve either
dealt with it in the past or maybe even currently dealing with it right now. The thing to know about low back pain is 98%
of the time it comes from some sort of mechanical source. So what exactly does that mean? It means that our back pain comes from either
a bone that’s out of place, maybe tipped out of place, or rotated out of place, or
a bone that’s not moving properly, meaning that when you move, it doesn’t move with
you the way that it’s supposed to. Now what happens is that when that happens,
when we either have a bone that is out of place or not moving properly is we irritate
all the nerves, we irritate potentially the spinal cord itself, we irritate the muscles,
the ligaments, the tendons, all of those structures that surround and support the spine and when
we do so, we begin to build arthritis, degeneration, we create inflammation, and ultimately it
leads to all that pain that you’re potentially feeling. So you may be asking yourself, how do I figure
out what’s causing my low back pain? Well what we do here, range of motion testing,
posture testing, orthopedic and neurological testing, and most importantly we’re going
to take a full set of digital xrays to see exactly what has happened to your bones. Have they maybe rotated out of place, have
they tipped out of place, but more importantly we do something that less than 1% of practitioners
in the entire world do, and that is something called motion xray studies. It allows us to see how those bones move with
you, because like we said before, if they’re not moving with you as you move you’re wearing
yourself out faster. A lot of the times people go to the doctor,
they get prescribed stretches, exercises, maybe get told to go do physical therapy,
and that’s great but if we don’t first correct the bones and make sure the bones
are moving with you, as you are doing those stretches, as you’re doing those exercises,
you may actually be wearing yourself out faster, building more arthritis, more degeneration,
and potentially setting yourself up for more back pain in the future. So if you would like a full evaluation, if
you would like to know exactly not only how your bones are positionally, but how they’re
moving with you, we would love to help you out. Stay tuned we’ve got more videos coming
up. We’re actually going to show you some of
those stretches and exercises that we teach here in the clinic to help you with your low
back pain. I hope this video was helpful and we look
forward to seeing you soon.
