How to Use Turmeric Oil

How to Use Turmeric Oil

Hey, guys, Dr. Axe here, doctor of natural
medicine and founder of draxe.com. In this video, I’m going to be going through
the incredible benefits of turmeric essential oil. And I’m telling you, this is going to be one
of the fastest and most beneficial essential oils on the market today. You may have heard of lavender oil. You may have heard of frankincense oil. But I’m telling you, turmeric oil has some
of the most incredible benefits for fighting cancer, reducing arthritis, improving digestive
health, and a whole lot more, and a lot more than I’m going to share with you right now. Well, first, let’s go over exactly what turmeric
oil is. Well, turmeric, actually, is a root that’s
actually part of the ginger family. And turmeric root is known to have a lot of
anti-inflammatory properties. Now, one incredible thing about it is it’s
a perennial herb which means, hey, if you plant it and grow it, it will continue to
naturally grow year after year, after year. So, that’s one of the best benefits of it
even from a farming standpoint. A few other incredible things about turmeric
oil is what they do in order to create it is they’ll take the turmeric plant, they’ll
allow steam to rise through it. And through steam distillation, it’ll separate
the water compounds and the oil compounds. Those oil compounds are what make up turmeric
essential oil. Oftentimes as well they’ll make turmeric CO2
extract. That’s where they take the root. They pressurize it to get all of the beneficial
and oil-based compounds out of that as well through the pressure, which is one of the
best ways. And that’s what I personally use, is a turmeric
CO2 extract. Now, turmeric is also, again, part of the
rhizome family. Again, CO2 distillation as you can see here. And here are the beneficial compounds you’ve
got to know about when it comes to turmeric and turmeric oil. The most prevalent compound in turmeric oil
is called turmerone or alpha-turmerone. Now, turmerone has actually been shown to
have amazing benefits at supporting your body in regenerating tissue and boosting stem cells. You know, there are some incredible research
out there today on how stem cells can actually help you grow literally new body parts. So, if you tear at ACL ligament, they could
take your own stem cells, inject them in the area, and it helps repair the area. But in general, using turmeric CO2 extract
or turmeric essential oil can help regenerate and create new healthy tissue, one of its
biggest benefits, and also contains a few other compounds here as well, curlone as well
as curcumin. And curcumin, specifically, has anti-inflammatory
benefits and has been shown to fight cancer. We know a lot of disease today is due to inflammation. We all know turmeric, in general, has powerful
anti-inflammatory benefits there are well. And then, also caryophyllene, and these compounds
as well, specifically this, the eucalyptoland, is actually very good for opening up your
respiratory way. So, it’s really good for respiratory infections
and breathing issues. This compound here is actually very good for
fighting bad bacteria in the body. So, this oil, turmeric oil has so many compounds
that can benefit the body. Now, the first benefit of using turmeric essential
oil is it helps fight colon cancer. And by the way, all of these references here,
these are from clinical studies both done on cells, animals and humans. But specifically here, a cellular study here,
helps fight colon cancer. Typically, putting . . . if you’re doing a
high-quality organic brand, let’s say a CO2 extract of turmeric oil, doing one to two
drops internally daily has great benefits. You can also diffuse it, which we’ll talk
about, or use topically here in a little bit. Number two, brain disease protection. You know, you want to be using fat-soluble
compounds because you know what? Your brain is made up of mostly fat-based
compounds and cholesterol-based compounds. So, you need to get more healthy fat in your
diet and use fat-soluble antioxidants like the compounds found in turmeric essential
oil. You know, it can fight brain disease, Alzheimer’s,
dementia, and have many other benefits on the brain. We know one of the very unique properties
of most essential oils is they’re very small in their molecular structure. So, they tend to be able to pass through the
blood-brain barrier and affect the brain directly by reducing inflammation, incredible benefits
here of turmeric oil. Number three, potentially eases epilepsy. Now, if a patient has epilepsy, you know,
this is one of those things that can really sort of calm the body as well. Turmeric is shown to be calming by, again,
reducing inflammation. So, there’s research showing that it improves
those issues. Arthritis, we know because of the compound
curcumin as well as turmerone, those are both anti-inflammatory compounds. They can ease joint pain, shoulder pain, knee
pain, back pain, neck pain, and arthritic pain, especially when taken internally or
rubbed topically directly on the area. Now, if you’re going to rub it on topically,
I’d recommend doing a blend of turmeric oil along with wintergreen oil as a combo and
putting it directly on the area. Number five is it acts as a liver aid. We know turmeric really supports the liver
in detoxification and also protects the liver against damage. You know, turmeric has a bright orange color. Many of those anti-oxidants that give you
that yellow and orange tint really protect the body. But, specifically, curcumin and turmerone
both protect the liver, support liver regeneration, and if you have liver issues or want to support
the liver, I’d recommend a one-two punch of turmeric along with milk thistle. Those two together are incredibly powerful
at supporting the body. Now, another big benefit is breast cancer. Okay? So, breast cancer, it shows promising benefits
at fighting breast cancer. What I would recommend is taking turmeric
oil along with other beneficial oils that have anti-cancer properties such as myrrh,
frankincense, lavender, black pepper oil. Rubbing it directly on that breast tissue
area can actually . . . and also through inhalation. I would say inhalation. You know, getting a diffuser in your home,
doing a blend of those essential oils like frankincense, myrrh, and turmeric. In fact, many people call turmeric gold. So, gold, frankincense, and myrrh, doing that
blend together in the diffuser is great for fighting cancer. Number seven, may reduce some leukemia cells. You can see here, multiple benefits on multiple
different types of cancer cells when using turmeric essential oil. Number eight, depression and anxiety reliever. We know that emotional stress, when those
cortisol levels raise, it causes you to age faster. It can causes depression and anxiety. If you have any of those issues, what I would
recommend is using turmeric oil through inhalation. Get a diffuser or just open up the bottle,
take 10 deep breaths in your nostrils with turmeric oil. And also, this is great to do in combination
with, if you struggle with depression and anxiety, doing a blend of turmeric oil, lavender
oil, ylang-ylang oil, and citrus oils like wild orange or orange. Doing blends like that together are incredible
for your mood in fighting depression and anxiety. The number nine benefit here of turmeric oil
is it improves the common cold. If you’ve come down with a common cold, respiratory
issues, turmeric has an ability to nourish and help heal the digestive tract. It may help fight the condition leaky gut,
but just in generally improving your immune system. If you have a common cold, I’d recommend mixing
the essential oils of turmeric oil and ginger oil, and also consider other oils like clove
and thyme. Doing a blend there together can have tremendous
benefits for the body. And don’t forget drinking real bone broth
chicken soup. You know, bone broth, also great for the immune
system. So, here’s how you want to use turmeric essential
oil. Number one, don’t be deceived by the size
of the bottle. A little bit of turmeric essential oil can
go a long way. You know, one way you could use it is by making
your own at-home DIY aromatherapy products. Also, they’re great for stress relief with
aromatherapy. You can mix them with massage oils. Massage them on your body. They’re good for external use. For internal use, here’s the thing, you want
to make sure you’re buying a brand that is either certified organic or wild crafted,
so you know that it’s never been exposed to chemical or pesticides. And when doing it, remember, this is plant-based
medicine. The word “medicine” is still there. You don’t want to use this in large amounts
internally. But, oftentimes, if you do already have a
healthy liver and a healthy digestive track, doing a couple of drops internally with food
can be recommended. But especially, if you’re going to do it internally
with food, I’d recommend internal use, turmeric CO2 extract. So, that type of oil, it’s a turmeric essential
oil, but it’s done as a CO2 extract. It’s the best for internal use. You want to store it in a cool, dry place. Now, typically, essential oils are so high
in antioxidants. It’s not completely necessary, but you can
do that. And source organic or wild crafted versions
whenever possible. So, again, let’s review all the amazing benefits
of turmeric oil. And again, the reason why it’s so beneficial
is these compounds it has of curcumin and turmerone. Alpha-turmerone is what has . . . is really
turmeric oil, what it has the highest levels of. And it’s been shown to help with tissue regeneration,
reducing inflammation, fighting brain disease, and also the big thing again, boosting your
body’s own stem cells, helping with tissue regeneration which is important to anybody
who’s trying to heal from really any condition. Again, fights cancer, protects the brain,
eases epilepsy, reduces arthritis, supports the liver in detoxification, reduces anxiety,
many types of cancer, boosts the immune system, fights the common cold, all of these benefits
of turmeric essential oil. Hey, guys. If you’ve enjoyed this video, make sure to

Most Diffusers generate Heat. Heat damages sensitive compounds within essential oils. That is why i use a Nebulizer. Nebulizers do Not generate heat to diffuse, No Heat at all, so with a nebulizer you wont be damaging some of those execellent compounds as a nebulizer will provide you every bit of any oil you put in it.

Dr. Axe, I have watched several of your videos on essential oils. I noticed you do not have a lot of the oils you are educating us on, so how do I know if I am purchasing a safe product? I found a product that states it is USDA certified organic, but it does not recommend ingesting without a doctor. My doctor is not going to help me with this.

Nikki Richie & Bobbie Bobbie – You should be able to get top grade essential oils from good health food stores, check Facebook if you Facebook and search "groups" for essential oils, many people who have lyme disease groups on Facebook also sell or connect you to a known source. E-bay, Amazon -? and Dr. Axe on his website, his Bone broth and Collagen with Peptides are GREAT !!! By the way. Just make sure that you buy the Essential oils ORGANIC, WILD CRAFTED & Co2 extract to get the nano particles that he speaks of at 1:24
