Holistic Back Pain Therapy : Holistic Physical Exercises

Let’s talk a little bit about physical exercise
with back pain, or neck pain. It’s first best to clear it with your physician or your physical
therapist before you attempt any exercise program to make sure that it’s not going to
injure you. Also ask which exercises would be best or which exercises may cause you more
pain or damage. Walking is one of the safest exercises you can do. If you can’t walk and
it causes you more pain, see if you can find a local pool that you can walk in the water.
Walking in the water reduces almost two thirds of your body weight. So it is an easier, gentler
exercise. It also causes resistance on your legs and sometimes your arms. There are classes
in larger cities and sometimes in the small suburbs that you may have access to. So, please
be sure that you check with your health care professionals to make sure that exercise is
good for you and will help you. There’s exercises you can do for your core muscles, to help
strengthen the supporting muscles for your back. You can also do neck exercises that
strengthen the neck in each direction. Some other exercises can be isometric, which you
don’t go over to a direction, but you push against resistance. But, please be sure you
do not hold your breath during this time because it can cause more pressure on a disc. So,
you may push against a wall, but keep breathing, if you forget you can talk, sing, and count,
anything like that so you won’t hold your breath. The same things on neck motions, but
you want to be sure that you keep talking so that you’re not holding your breath.
