Helping my back and neck pain using the DRX9000C – Spinal Decompression

Hi I am Dr. Hart with Hart Chiropractic and
I am standing next to a Spinal Decompression unit. You may ask, “what is spinal decompression?” What is this machine and why would anyone
need anything like this? Spinal decompression is for patients with
bulging or herniated discs, whether it is in their neck or it is in their low back. It is that pain that someone has as a constant
pain. It won’t go away and it is traveling down
their arm, traveling down their leg, down the back of the leg. They have sciatic pain that won’t go away. Spinal decompression might just be the thing
for them. When we look over here, you will notice there is a number for lumbar levels: number 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. What is unique about this is that we are able
to target specific areas of disc injury, where that bulging disc or herniation is occurring. On the opposite side over here, we can target areas of the neck where the bulge might be. What makes spinal decompression so unique
is that it is smart. It is smart traction on a bulging or injured
disc and we are able to target the specific area. Instead of just having a consistent, strong
pull in one area, we are able to have a targeted pull that is more focused and gets that pressure
off the disc and it is comfortable for the patient. What I want to show you is a little bit of
what that smart technology looks like when we look at it in graph form. We have 3 different areas here: blue is what
the computer is programmed to do. That is the cycle of stretch then release
and then stretch and releasing. It is actually pumping the disc. When we look at the green, this is what it
actually did and then we have the red and that is what the patient is going through. When we look at the red, we see that as this
line changes, so does the green. We see a correlation and what the machine
is actually doing is it is responding to how that disc and how that injured joint is responding. We see that it does this throughout the treatment
and as we move through, we can see it goes from the initial stages here where we have
quite a bit of reaction going on. The machine is trying to make it more comfortable for
the patient as we move through it gets smoother and smoother as it relieves the pressure off
that injured disc and taking the pressure off the nerves and helping to help correct
that lower back disc herniation. I hope this video has been informative. If you are somebody who suffers from bulging
or herniated disc, has that pain that shoots down your leg or your arm, numbness or tingling,
please give our office a call. We are at Hart Chiropractic Center here in
Geneva and our number is 630-262-1421. I look forward to talking with you to see
if decompression is a good treatment for you.
