Another condition that’s very commonly treated
with contact lenses is corneal scars or lacerations corneal trauma to the eye. With this condition we have irregular astigmatism
due to the formation of of whatever wound healing has occurred in the eye. When you have a scar it’s an opacity and you
can’t see through an opacity you have to have a clear line of sight so we can use contact
lenses literally to bend light around the scar and allow the patient to see better.
